Justification of the degree

The Double Bachelor Degree in Audiovisual Communication and Journalism is a training program design to fit in the context of convergence of contemporary communication. The hybridization of journalistic languages and genres, as well as the primacy of multimedia platforms for content production, require students to have transversal skills and knowledge in the different areas. The strengthening of versatile professional profiles has become evident in the journalistic sector, as well as in other areas of content generation (information, entertainment and fiction).

Using a project-based approach, this double degree balances theoretical and practical aspects of communication and allows students to acquire the skills required both to develop a journalistic profession, including audiovisual and multimedia communication, as well as to participate in the production and distribution of quality audiovisual content, especially of an informative and institutional nature.

From a strategic point of view, this proposal is part of the offer of degrees from Spanish public and private universities, and it is specially included in the catalogue of double degrees from nearby university. Also, as this program is an attractive and demanded degree, the positioning of centres offering the double degree will be strengthened.

The complementarity and the percentage of common subjects between both degrees facilitates this double degree and implies and expansion of the academic and professional horizon for students.

This double degree is governed by the  UCLM regulation on Double Degrees and Simultaneity of official Bachelor and Master courses.
